Science can really be fun, if you put your eyes to it! On March 31st, 2006, the 4th grade classes dissected a cow’s eye! Now, don’t go nuts, and say “GROSS”, because it wasn’t gross at all! When the teacher popped the lens out, you could see that the newspaper words got larger! When we felt the lens, it was all slimy! We felt the optic nerve, it was hard! We compared the cow’s eyes to our eyes, and the cow eyes were bigger. If you wanted to, you could hold them! The retina was greenish, blueish, and shinny. If you cut open the back of the eye, you could see right through it! But, we can’t forget the best part... the fluid. It was like slime! When you held it and dumped it in to someone else's hand it was like water, but it stayed together! It was so, so awesome and COOL!!!!! By 4th Graders - Jenna , Kendra , and Makaela |
